It’s Saturday and there’s no need to post anything too serious so here are more desktop screenshots. That’s Windows Media Player 11 on Windows Vista Enterprise. The second photo demonstrates Vista’s live thumbnail preview functionality. I’ve reduced the clutter in the quicklaunch bar by using the programmable shortcut keys on my keyboard.

I love using beautiful scenery shots for my desktop wallpaper. This particular photo comes from a photographer commissioned by Microsoft to shoot photos for the Windows Vista Wallpaper Collection (this particular photo does not come with the OS).

I may begin posting shots of my desktop fairly regularly since I often change my wallpaper and because it will give me something to post on Saturdays.

I like to keep the desktop on my laptop clutter-free. I almost never place any shortcut icons or files on the desktop. The one exception is for anything I will temporarily need quick access to but will be disposed of or moved soon.

In addition to the clutter-free desktop I enjoy using beautiful photos for my desktop wallpaper. I change my wallpaper every two weeks or so. I’m constantly on the lookout for new photos to use. Recently I came across mandolux. There is a wealth of great photos in various resolutions available at the site.

Below are two screenshots of my desktop from today and early December.
